Lisa Tuplin's Story

"I saw a need and couldn't think of one good reason why I couldn't make it my problem, but I saw at least a thousand reasons why I should. I started a pilot brown bag lunch program in my church which makes lunches for kids in four schools in our community. This program is run and financed by volunteers from our church family who made it their problem too. If I can make one kid's day a little bit better by putting food in his or hers stomach, knowing that it will help them get through their school day, makes my day that little bit better too.

"Serving and volunteering completes the circle of my life. I have, I give back, that's what I do." - Lisa Tuplin

Every day, thousands of kids go hungry in Calgary. Lack of proper nutrition leads to decreased concentration in school, poor health, lack of attention and reduced academic performance.

Their future is our future.  Make it your problem.
